About this Webpage
This webpage was created in partial fulfillment of the MUSI 6285 course for the American Band College of Sam Houston State University. The purpose of this webpage is to educate and inspire trumpet players (and everyone) about the euphonium, including its history, construction, literature, and virtuoso musicians in the hopes that students will be moved to switch from the ever popular trumpet to the often ignored euphonium. It is also intended to give trumpet players resources to guide them through the transition from trumpet to euphonium. As a trumpet player, I would find it hard to think of why anybody in their right mind would want to switch from trumpet to anything, but after researching for this project I find myself envious of the rich sound and beautiful music unique to the euphonium.
